It’s an exciting time at our office. We’re growing, we’re having a record year and we’re adding some awesome new people to our team.
That means we have more talent to help make us even better, but it also means we have some great new people to hang out with every day.
As we’re a technology company driven by artificial intelligence and machine learning, we believe it’s important that you get to see the humans behind the curtain who make the machine run.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: we are a business by, for and about people. So, we’d love to introduce you to some of the people here at Infegy. Next up, one of our newest team members: meet Kat Delgado.
Kat is our brand new software engineer who’s joined the team to help us build and develop an even better a social listening tool.
While you’re doing some great social data research for your brand or business in our platform, Infegy Atlas, you’ll witness some of the great work Kat has been doing already . Before you do, get to know Kat with this little Q&A.
Welcome aboard, Kat!
Briefly describe your new role with Infegy.
I’m a back-end software engineer focusing on data acquisition.
Tell us a little about your background.
I graduated from Missouri University of Science and Technology in 2007 with a double major in computer and electrical engineering and a minor in mathematics. I worked at Honeywell Aerospace for 10 years doing avionics development and certification. I then spent a year doing embedded systems R&D with machine learning and internet-of-things technology for Dover’s fuel transport division. During my years in product development, I studied web programming as a hobby.
What excites you about the company and opportunity?
Working with Big Data is always exciting, but doing so in a relaxed but professional environment is even better. Infegy offers valuable insights and has plenty of room to grow, so the contributions I make feel impactful.
What vision do you have for your role?
My goal is to help expand Infegy’s data collection capability to include even more channels and data feeds in increasingly elegant and powerful ways.
Do you have a career idol or person you look up to?
Do you have a favorite inspirational quote?
"I never lose, I either win or I learn." - Nelson Mandela
What do you like to do in your free time?
I’m a cyclist, so on nice evenings I’ll be on the trails getting some miles in. I also spend my time growing my fledgling non-profit Makers For Classrooms.
What is the coolest place you’ve traveled to?
Interfuse is by far the coolest trip I’ve been on. It’s a midwestern burn, like burning man, but smaller. Burns are paradigm-shifting communities whose values are lived every day.
Where might you go for your Infegy trip?
I’d like to visit Japan. It’s a country that has given me a lot of joy over the years, and I’d like to get to know it better.
